Configure agent software

Open SettingsAI & agentsAgent software for the selected computer's agent tools and profiles. Check installation and readiness before creating a conversation. Provider accounts and keys belong in Connections; advanced routing belongs in Routing.

Profiles save a provider, model and supported launch settings. Existing conversations retain their own provider lifecycle. Review provider update controls on the host; updating software and changing an account are separate operations.

Connect MCP tools

Use the host's Tools settings to add an MCP server. Choose the supported local command or HTTP transport, then enter its arguments, environment or headers. Keep credentials in the host configuration.

New agents receive the saved configuration according to their provider's MCP support. Test a harmless tool call before relying on it. Saving a server is not proof that it is running or authorized to read a particular resource.

Use skills and instruction files

Agent software exposes its supported skill management. Review a skill's source and what it asks the agent to do before installing or enabling it. Project instruction files stay in the project and follow the selected provider's conventions.

Project context can locate relevant instruction files. A file being found is separate from a provider loading it. Use plugins for Lyre UI and lifecycle contributions.
